Kilz Casual Colors

I have now tried the Kilz Casual Colors paint twice. Both times I have used it in bathrooms. The bathrooms had different paints on the walls initially. I bought Kilz because I’ve always depended on it in my redecorating of older homes.
The current home was built around 1964, so no telling what’s been on the walls. I’ve used two different colors, one light and one dark in the Interior Eggshell Enamel. I have been pleased with the colors, but am not sure about the coverage. Neither time did I get to do just one coat to cover the surface. I [...]

Mrs. Primitive Snowman Doll

Mrs. Primitive Snowman Doll November 20th, 2008 I listed this new primitive snowman doll - or should I say, snowgal! - in my Etsy shop today. She is the Mrs. to the last snowman doll that I made.  Perhaps that toothy grin is because she carries a snowball in her bag that is ready to throw? I had a lot of fun taking pictures of her too. I love to get to play around with my collection of antiques and primitives and do a bit of redecorating around each new doll. It is almost time to finally

I’m a bag freak…..

Unfortunately, as you can tell, the colors don’t really vary. The red one was purchased solely because it was £3. I like it though.  I’ve given 2 or 3 bags to my mother, and a few away to family members who visited. So, I’m sure my total would have been a lot higher then this. I’ve also sold some on ebay. Every little bit helps! Other than photographing my bag collection I’ve been redecorating my home. Last friday my mother was vacumming and the rest of us were cleaning. I thought it wo

Before and After: Bookshelves

Before and After: Bookshelves A week or so ago I wrote about how to dress your bookshelves - one of my favorite things to do. I heard from Sarah, a Design Hole reader, who sent me photos of her own great bookshelf redecorating job.

The Top 10 Ways to Annoy the Cullens

"The Top 10 Ways to Annoy the Cullens". 10. Visit Carlisle at the hospital for every papercut, hiccup, and scrape imaginable. 9. Have ornate coffins delivered to the Cullens for Christmas with a note saying "Just in case you get tired". 8. Replace all of Bella's jeans and t-shirts with pink lace and frilly dresses. 7. Every time Esme starts a redecorating project tell her "That's not how Martha Stewart would have done it." 6. When Emmett is trying to watch a game on TV, talk the whole tim

i'll light the fire

LOL! Ellen, you're too funny. Yes, I know not only of tasteless decorating, but also of the bubblegum and toothpicks used to hold it together. I'm surprised no one's filed a class-action suit against home makeover shows. But it's hard to mess up a flat screen TV, or a sofa, or dinette set, ha ha. I figure I might end up with some redecorating to do, but it'd be worth it for the loot!
