Caribou Coffee bars

While looking for the perfect snack, I came across a new granola bar. My husband can’t have nuts, so I have to be careful what I buy in the form of granola.
The product I found is by General Mills called “Caribou Coffee” granola bars. I bought the Chocolate Mocha flavored bars. They advertised a good source of whole grain and calcium. There were six bars to the box at $2.32. 140 calories and 3.5g fat per bar.
I really liked them as I could definitely taste the coffee. They reminded me of a mocha cookie my Mom used to make. [...]

Cafe Mocha and Chocolate Sin

That’s what I got at Bo’s Coffee Club yesterday. If you read back on some of my coffee posts, you’d notice I’m pretty much in love with Cafe Mocha. I don’t usually have anything with my Cafe Mocha, but I felt I had to have something with it, so I skimmed the display for a [...]

Not So Different from Buying a Turkey at Your Local HEB

As with so many Sarah Palin moments, we have to remind ourselves that no, this is not an SNL skit. This is really her. Sipping on a Starbucks mocha latte and casually chatting with a reporter about what she’s thankful for while some guy slaughters a turkey in the background.

Refrigerator Cookies

These cookies/biscuits are the ultimate in home-baking convenience. They are so easy and popular that the fomula has been “tubed” and you can buy the neatly shaped log ready for cutting and baking. I found the recipe in The Baker by Leanne Kitchen and there are as many variations as your imagination allows. Mocha spirals, which I attempted - though not as neatly as I hoped - has 2 tsp cocoa powder into 1 dough and 2 tsp of coffee powder in the other. Maple and pecan with 60 ml maple syrup ad

Yellow Tail 2007 Reserve Shiraz - Syrah/Shiraz Red Wine

Red Wine by Yellow Tail from Australia. An intensely concentrated wine, Yellow Tail The Reserve Shiraz initially reveals aromas of ripe cherries, blackberries, chocolate and mocha. Delving deeper into this complex wine, cracked pepper and spice fragrance are apparent with sweet French oak aromas always present. The vanilla softness on the nose takes you into a full palate crammed with ripe fruits reminiscent of a basket of sweet summer berries. Seamless and well structured tannins complete th

Reaching Out

Today I am sitting at the airport waiting to fly away from what has been two weeks of intense recording as I put the final touches on my new album Revolution. I’ve been going non-stop doing 10-15 hour shifts in the studio and living off white mocha’s. (yum!) About a year ago I realized something. I had started in the Christian music industry to do one thing and one thing only, reach out to the world. Reach out to the very groups and people that I once surrounded myself with. Nowadays I look bac

I’ve got Friday on my mind… wait, it IS Friday?!

Me, January 2001, hungover in some random cafe in the New Orleans Garden District… “Mom?! Mom?? I feel all weird. Maybe I’ve been working too hard. Or I’m melting.” -Mayhem Have a relaxing and recuperative weekend, [...]
