First World Problem

Gary took the day off. I called him at four to say I was coming home a little early, and did he need anything? "CAN you bring home SOME FOOD? There is nothing to eat in this house! I am starving. All I've had today is sugar-free gum and water!" "What about those two frozen pizzas?" "Well, I'd have to cook them!" "And?" "I'm too weak! Starving!" "So.. eggs? No, you'd have to cook. The chicken soup in the freezer? You wouldn't be cooking if you just used the microwave." "Microwaved food do

The week in wrap

Retro: Everybody loves Heilemann’s massive Star Wars pic collection. Except maybe that poor Ewok that Kenny Baker beheaded. In any case, it’s the most clicked thing on the site this week. Robot Chicken Star Wars II: If you haven’t watched it yet, the entire fandom will shun you. Kidding! Anniversaries: We celebrated 10 years of The Phantom Menace teaser and 30 years of the Star Wars Holiday Special, so the official site indulged in Holiday Special week. I won’t tell George if you won’t. Star T

Grange We Can Believe In

Yes. The website of the poultry farm where Palin had her video op makes clear that it’s an artisinal local producer whose husbandry practices shame the commercial chicken and turkey industry by contrast. The video itself tends to confirm the claims of the website. The owner processes a single bird at a time, with care and attention. If you’re not a vegan, you have no quarrel with this man or his operation. As for Palin using it as a backdrop for the interview, I admit it has its amusing as

Friday Dinner@Khansana

I think this is the 3rd or 4th time I came here, still out of the way. Located at Science Park, this indian restaurant serves good curries and naans. Though might have been too extreme for some people, all the curries we tried really good, chicken, fish, mutton, prawns, vege, etc. They have a wide selection of menu, but mainly in good concentrated amount of sauce. The ...

Inside The MacBook

This is absolutely awesome. Via Make, Jason from 100 Words A Day had the brilliant idea to see what was inside his MacBook. Next thing you know, he's an Internet celebrity! I've always wondered what the inside of a laptop looked like, but I've always been too chicken to open up my own. I'm glad someone else took the plunge for me!

Getting Ready for the Weekend

Just in case any of my readers are so loyal that you’d actually miss me if I didn’t post for a couple days, I wanted to give you all a heads up - I am going to be running around like a chicken with its head cut off all weekend, so it’s possible I won’t have anything to blog about until Monday when I can sit still for five minutes. First, there’s the Big Game. If you live in the bay area, you know that this is the football game between Cal and Stanford. Being a Cal alum, and living in the gener

Love To Drink Coffee

Yesterday my friend Elma pick me up at work. We went to Starbucks coffee shop to drink a coffee. After that we bought some grocery items at Nofrills. They have lots of sale items this week. I bought some fruits, vegetables, chicken, beef, biscuits, milk, cheese, juice, coffee, rice and many more.

Johnny Lee’s favorite Wiimote projects

There is no doubt that [Johnny Lee] is the authority on Wiimote based projects. So, when he compiles a list of his favorite Wiimote projects, we definitely pay attention. He’s organized the list as a progression of the unusual. By the time you get to ‘Chicken Head Tracking’ at the bottom, you’ll be adequately prepared. You’re bound to get some inspiration from the list even it’s building a pigeon guided missile.

November 2008 - Site Updates

Good evening! It’s just after 8:30 p.m. on Friday and I’m home recovering from a cold/flu. So I’ve increased my vitamin C dose, had chicken soup for supper, and I’m drinking tons of water. Way to flush those cold germs out! Anyhow, the reason I’m posting and not resting in bed is I’ve just updated the poetry submission page with a brilliant piece by a guy named Mike Casey. If you like poetry, give it a read! Interested in advertising on KarenBlundell.com? Get all the juicy details here. I’
