Athletic Works Shoes

As I get older, I’ve had more trouble with my feet, arches and heels in particular. I’ve spent as much as $140 on tennis shoes covering the usual accepted brands Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Skechers. They are good for about 3 weeks to help the foot pain, but I usually end up putting an extra insole or other support after that time. So I decided to try something cheap to see if there was a difference for me. I bought a pair of “Athletic Works” tennis shoes at Wal-Mart.

Adidas Superstar x David Z. - Black Tie Collaboration


Typically when we here of David Z, it’s about a collaboration with Asics. This time around, they decided to get together with Adidas to work on a special pair of shoes which have been dubbed the Black Ties. The model of choice is the iconic Superstar, which sports an all black colorway constructed from leather along with patent leather accents on the three-striped logo. No word yet as to their availability but we’ll keep you guys notified. via HS.

Adidas Gazelle 2 - Purple Tartan


This pair of Adidas Gazelle 2’s are slated to hit retailers today, November 22, 2008. They have been dubbed the Purple Tartans and sport a purple leather upper along with tented multi-colored tartan designs. They are part of the Adidas Craftsmanship Pack which we have spoke of before. MLS to shutter Reserve Division, expand rosters for ‘09


In his annual State of the League address Friday, Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber said the league would close its Reserve Division and divert funds to a bolstered senior roster and increased commitment to the Generation adidas program. Each team will be permitted to carry 18, 19 or 20 senior roster players and up to four developmental players including Generation adidas players outside of its salary budget. adidas x David Z. “Black Tie Project” Superstar


David Z and adidas create the “Black Tie Project,” a luxurious take on one of adidas classic sneakers. The adidas Superstar has been transformed into a dress shoe, featuring pearlarized leather, patent leather and classic pinstripes throughout the shoe. The “Black Tie Project” are liminted to 400 pairs worldwide and will release on Black Friday, November 28th. A limited run will drop online exclusively at Davidz.com and at the David Z flagship store, Shoe Gallery Miami and Major DC.
